Reiki practice found me in 2016, and I could not have survived 21st century NYC life (being a working parent, long distance elder-caregiving, menopause, panic attacks, all the STUFF) without it.
It changed my internal and external worldview profoundly and continues to be a daily anchor to my mental, physical, and spiritual wellbeing.
I care about relationships…with ourselves, each other, and our planet.
Hello, I’m so glad you are here, reading & thinking about Reiki. I hope that in my lifetime, Reiki & energy healing will become more widely practiced, especially as a partner in our western medical & therapeutic settings. I’m doing all I can to make this happen because I want a restored relationship to our individual & collective ecology; so many of us are working for a cultural, social, and political cohesion that values reciprocity, liberation, trust and love. Reiki is a gentle but powerful disrupter of systems of oppression and dehumanization; may we dismantle with care all that no longer serves us.
Why? When we are in a clear state of energetic flow, our body thanks us by doing its regular work of repair and maintenance. Our loved ones thank us for our capacity to be present and supportive, and our world thanks us for our capacity to respond with humanity and humility.
My linage: Usui Reiki 1 & 2 attunements with Luke Simon (Maha Rose), Usui Reiki Master attunement with Lisa Levine (Maha Rose), Earth Evolution Reiki attunement with the MINKA Reiki godmothers, Manu Del Prete & Aki Baker (MINKA Mystery School). I continue to learn from MINKA’s Consciousness of Radical Equity Training (CORE) program (2024 cohort). I am in active study of energy healing with Annie Bond (Awakening Prana) and have received training in the modalities of Therapeutic Touch (TM), Craniosacral Therapy, & Resonant Attention.
Prior to practicing Reiki, I worked in the NYC government, non-profit and philanthropy sectors to support children, families, older adults and civic engagement. I’m also a mama of two beautiful humans, and co-caretaker with my long-term partner of one ornery and dear old cat, we have called the unceded Lenape territory of Brooklyn, NY home for almost thirty years. I am a member of the Sweet Action poetry collective and enjoy sharing my writing at readings and in print.
I am eternally grateful for my many generous teachers, colleagues and guides in this ever-evolving life sustaining and life changing work.
